in addition to my basic professional qualifications, I have a first class honours degree in social work studies, post graduate diploma in legal studies, masters degree in health care law & ethics, advanced diploma in TA psychotherapy, and currently working towards the degree of doctor of psychotherapy with the Metanoia Istitute (London).

I also have over twenty-seven years standing in relation to my organisational work and have extensive experience as a Senior Manager, Consultant & Trainer within the statutory, voluntary and independent child care sectors.

I have also been an approved Foster Carer for over fifteen years.

A driving force and passion in my organisational Work is the effective minimisation of placement disruption through the provision of measurable therapeutic support programmes to children and young people within public care who experience trauma, attachment disorders, sexually inappropriate behaviours, and learning disabilities.

My professional memberships include the Institute of Transactional Analysis, European Association of Transactional Analysis, International Transactional Analysis Association, British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, Metanoia Institute (London), General Social Care Council.

Approach

My psychotherapeutic practice is underpinned by Transactional Analysis (TA) as it is extremely effective with individuals, couples and groups.

TA psychotherapy is committed to change and provides a powerful approach in bringing about human well being - focusing upon specific changes desired by the client to understand behaviors, emotions and thoughts that prevent the development of full human potential.

My practice is also integrative, which means I do not restrict my practice to any one approach - utilising every aspect of my training, knowledge, skills and experience to reinforce positive relationship styles and healthy functioning by understanding how each person can constructively move forward to promote positive change in their lives.

The majority of my practice tends to be medium to long-term in character - though the length of time any one remains in therapy is always subject to the needs of the individual.
